Here we are again … Friday and time for Astrid’s first photo challenge for us for October … π
I feel like I say this at the beginning of every month but I really can’t believe we are in October already and it’s been nearly a year since we had a wander round my brother’s estate with Bobby and mum and dad … hunting for pumpkins …
… which means it’s also nearly a year since we found out just how poorly poor old dad was π’
As we are currently away on holiday I am a bit limited with the photo archive and … as we are unlikely to see anything pumpkin related where we are … I am limited to what I can find on my phone and iPad so here we go …
Starting with my crocheted pumpkins which I made a few years ago now but bring out to display each autumn, along with my autumn print …
Then there are these very colourful squash … at the Chatsworth Farm Shop, taken on a visit a few years ago …
This fabric I bought a couple of years ago purely because I loved it … but haven’t used it at all as yet …
This next photo most definitely is not a pumpkin but always makes me think of them …
And my last couple are not my photos but ones I’ve saved that I’ve been sent of the little chap for his first Halloween dress up …
… and a visit to a pumpkin patch …I know I have loads of pumpkin photos at home as we always take pictures when on our National Trust garden visits and a big fat pumpkin is always worth getting the camera out for … but these will have to do for today πππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππ
I wrote this post a few days ago … thinking there was no chance on Earth I would see anything pumpkin related this week as we are away. Well … today I have two … yes two … sneaky little addendums …
Starting with pumpkins drying out in a greenhouse in the walled garden at Stackpole … sadly I didn’t get to see any pre-harvest …
… and secondly … these gorgeous velvet pumpkins on display in a fabulous shop selling all kinds of vintage bits and pieces in Pembroke Dock …
That’s definitely me done then for this week … I’m off to see what everyone else has come up with π

I love your crochet pumpkins - I made some a few years back and not sure what I have done with them??? May be the excuse I need to make some more!
ReplyDeleteI’m sure mine were from an Attic 24 pattern. I like them as they are made to include the stripes as you go rather than adding them after they have been made up … if that makes any sense at all π
DeleteYou have inspired me to make a pumpkin! Thank you. I am thinking of making another one.... I'll go and look to see if Attic24 has a pattern. Despite you not having access to your archive photos, you have provided us with a good selection. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteFound the Attic24 pumpkin pattern so will give it a go. The link to it is here if anyone else wants to try it out.

Oh thank you so much … that’s brill. I think it’s my favourite pattern as it’s really easy and makes nice pumpkin like stripes without having to wrap thread round afterwards. π
DeleteLove that fabric I would have turned it into tablemats to use in October!
ReplyDeleteI think I am really more of a collector of pretty fabric than a sewer π. I hate cutting into the nice stuff π
DeleteWhat a lovely selection of pumpkin related pictures. I love them all, especially the face on the front of the fancy dress costume. Very clever. Sorry I am late in commenting, I was so sure I had done it after I originally read your blog.πππ
ReplyDeleteI do that too … or i comment, get an ‘oops there was an error’ message and give up till later … then forget. With Blogtober going on it’s easy to miss a post too at the moment … though lovely to have lots of posts to read π
DeleteLook at all those wonderful pumpkins, especially the one with that adorable smile!
ReplyDeleteI really love your crocheted pumpkins, that might be something I need to try one of these days.
He is a real charmer π. The pumpkin pattern has been shared in one of the earlier comments if you fancy giving it a go π
