Lodge Life :: May 2023

Hi there everyone 😀

Whilst we only managed to visit our lodge in North Wales once in May we did manage to stay for a couple of weeks. It was May last year when we actually took ownership and it's a really good time of year to visit. Whilst we did have a fair amount of rain we also had some glorious sunshine and blue skies and it was just lovely seeing all of the wildflowers starting to appear and to be able to make the most of everywhere still being fairly quiet.

We really made the most of the sunshine whilst we had it and added a good few places to the list of favourites that is getting ever longer. We got to see Towyn beach in the sunshine ...
… explored Porth Ysgaden ...
… and Porth y Cychod ...
We went to Nefyn Show ...
… actually managed to find Penllech Beach and made the walk across the fields ...
… and had our first lodge BBQ ...
We had lunch at The Sandbar in The Warren Lodge Park at Abersoch … overlooking the beach …
... saw lots of bluebells ...
... and had a walk along the beach at Pwllheli ...
We spent a day watching The Coronation ...
... and had a day driving through the mountains ...
... and up the coast to Llanfairfechan and Penmaenmawr .....
We spent our last day with a very nice lunch at Nant Gwythern in the sunshine ...
Oh ... and highlight of the week, though no photographic evidence ... the bullfinches were back. On 5 May last year, our first day on the park we saw a load of bullfinches on the grass. It was the first time either of us had ever seen bullfinches and we hadn't seen them again since. They reappeared on 5 May ... a year to the day that we last saw them. We were both well chuffed to say the least 😀

Thanks for taking time to comment on my blog. I love to hear what people think about what Martin and I have been up to.
