A Trip to Windsor #2 :: Our First Airbnb

Hi there everyone 😀

As you will know from my previous post ... we managed to make a last minute trip to Windsor for a few days back in February. At the time I didn't realise that this would be last trip we would be taking for quite some time.

I went brave and bold and, inspired by a friend of a similar age, found us our first ever Airbnb. We stayed at 9, The Courtyard. It was right in the heart of Windsor, with parking. The reviews looked great, it was hosted by Helen, who was just fabulous and responded to any queries really quickly.

It cost us just over £500 for five nights, which seemed really reasonable to us ... but to say we were a bit nervous as we arrived was an understatement.

We were a bit early, but had no problem finding where we needed to be from the instructions provided beforehand. We had called ahead, and were met by the housekeeper, the owners being away, who quickly showed us round before leaving us to get settled in.
The location of the property was absolutely perfect ... it was literally 20 steps from the main High Street but tucked away in a nice quiet courtyard, with a secure access to the apartment block and a lift.
Our apartment was on the 2nd floor and once inside the apartment it was really light and bright, with lots of windows. Whilst the windows look out directly over the car park at the back and offices to the side ... leaning to the left there is a lovely view of the church on the High Street ...
There was a cosy open plan living area with a small kitchen, dining area and comfortable sofa and chairs ...
There was a nice spacious double bedroom, with plenty of storage ...
... a further twin bedroom and a good sized bathroom with a bath with a shower over.

It was spotlessly clean and there were plenty of nice touches ...
We were were soon tucked up nice and cosy and safe and secure in our little bolt hole and spent the evening unpacking, cooking up a chilli, watching TV and looking through all of the information provided planning our next few days ... starting with plans to head out earlyish to catch the changing of the guard.
