When we were at the lodge at the beginning of September with Jackie and Phil we managed a nice little circular walk at Trefor … which is not far along the coast from us.
We’ve always loved Trefor. It was one of the first little places we explored when buying the lodge back in 2022.
There’s not much there but it is just a beautiful spot and always feels very ‘mindful’. We often take visitors there for a bit of a wander and this was the second visit for Jackie and Phil.
Normally we just do a short walk … out along the pier and then along the coast to where the coastal path heads up along the cliff tops.
Martin and I did venture up the coastal path on one occasion earlier the year … when we were feeling quite enthusiastic. We actually got to watch dolphins in the bay before retracing our steps and coming back down.
On this visit we were aiming to go a little further.
We started out by the pier as usual …
… and carried on our usual walk to where the coastal path heads upwards. This time we carried on … with no plans of coming back this way like we did last time.
This time we had a short circular in mind …
This time we had a short circular in mind …
Our plan had been to carry on through the village but we opted to take another path which took us back to the coast. We then just had a short walk back to the harbour … from where we’d started …
It was only a short walk … about two miles … but it felt like a real achievement as we’d never felt enthusiastic or fit enough to try it before. It’s definitely a walk we will do again for sure π
