Exploring :: Felley Priory with Mum

Hi there everyone 😀

I'm taking a bit of a break from our break in The Yorkshire Dales today to bring you our latest garden visit.

A few weeks ago now we made another visit to Felley Priory ... it really has become a firm favourite. This time we took mum, who we'd been promising to take since we first visited back in 2019.

We'd been hoping to catch the herbaceous borders at their best, as we did in June last year, but as with everything garden related this year, they are running a bit behind. That's not to say there wasn't plenty of colour and interest ... there most certainly was .. and here are some of my favourite bits ...

The cow parsley ...
As we'd seen along the roadsides in The Yorkshire Dales the cow parsley was at its very best ...

The allium ...
Being a lover of anything purple the allium are always a big favourite for me. Sadly it's not something we have a lot of luck with in our own garden ...
The white ones were looking good too ...
The irises ...
These were looking fabulous ... both dotted around the garden and around the pond ...

Peonies
The peonies really were the star of the show ... prepare yourself for an abundance of photos ... they were all just so beautiful ...

Magnolia
I was surprised to see a few late flowering magnolias still in bloom, but they were just lovely ...

The best of the rest ...
There were lots of other pretty and interesting bits and pieces going on ...

Whilst our favourite herbaceous borders weren't yet at their best, they were full of the promise which is to come. I only hope we can manage to make another visit in the next few weeks so that we can see them at their best 😀

  1. Lovely 😊
We visited a garden yesterday (still to blog about it) and even though it was not to our personal taste it was a gorgeous and a well kept garden with lots of rooms and interest - some one's pride and joy and probably their full time job! Your photos look gorgeous, looking forward to seeing the herbaceous border pictures 😊
