Photo Scavenger Hunt :: January 2021 #3 Moon

Hi there everyone 😀

It's time for this week's photo scavenger hunt ... joining in with Kate from I live, I love, I craft, I am me.

The word for this week is 'Moon'. I did scratch my head a bit when I first saw this as night time photography is not really something that I do much of ... I never have that much luck with the lighting and am a bit rubbish at using my manual camera settings.

But after a bit of a think I was sure that there was something in the archive from a Christmas trip a few years ago to the Festival of Light at Longleat ...

I know the moon is small ... but it really did look spectacular in real life 😀
We went right around the World ... from The North Pole ❆❄❅
To Ancient Egypt 𓀀𓀁𓀂
We even went under the sea 🐟🐠🐟

It was an absolutely spectacular show and I would definitely recommend it if ever you get the chance to go ... it did literally take my breath away and if you want to read more about it or see more photos you can do so here.

Next week’s photos will be down to my choice and I had been pondering about what I might post but yesterday presented a couple of unexpected photo opportunities so I think I have something up my sleeve.

  1. That Festival of Light looks wonderful. Pity Longleat is so far from here. Will look it up further on your site. Thank you for lovely photographs - and your moon looks good against the different creatures.

    1. It really was a fabulous show. we booked a cottage and stayed in the area for a week, with the Longleat visit as our primary objective but there were lots of other lovely places to visit too. After dark the lanterns were absolutely stunning ... I’ve never seen anything like it. Definitely worth a trip if you get the chance 😃

  4. Fab photos and so colourful. I've just had a quick look at your other post and the photos are stunning - what sort of camera do you use?

    1. Thank you ... we walked round the lanterns in daylight and were impressed but after dark they were absolutely stunning. Camera wise they will be a mixture of a Canon EOS DSLR, a Panasonic Lumix and my phone. The Lumix is a fab little camera, good for most occasions and easy to carry around. The Canon is better for Macro but a bit of a bind to carry around 😃

  7. Well done & although small moon images the structures in the foreground are something else. Take care, stay safe & hugs from a hot down under.

  9. The photos look spectacular too - and I'm so glad someone else isn't too good with their camera's manual settings. I don't use mine at all. One day . . .

    1. Haha ... yes I am totally rubbish at anything other than manual. I did have an on line course for my 50th birthday but never got very far with it. Auto is just so easy and comes out great 99% of the time. I did used to have an old Olympus OM10 in the days before digital and used to do ok ... but so much better seeing your shot before sending off to Bonusprint and just hoping for the best 😂😂😂
