Random Ramblings :: Getting Together

Hi there everyone 😀

It seems ages since I’ve randomly rambled and there has been a fair bit going on, so I though I’d just drop this one here before I carry on posting about our trip to The Yorkshire Dales.

We seem to really have been making the most of the relaxation of lockdown restrictions, the good weather and gardens. I didn’t realise quite how much until I had a wander through the photos in my phone and WhatsApp.

We started off in March with a socially distanced BBQ at The Sutherlands …
Going into April there was a long awaited afternoon tea for me in the garden with Jackie, Rachel and Erin. Erin seemed quite happy to be attending her first outing with 'the girls' ...
... and I finally got my first cuddle …

There was also a very impromptu 60th birthday breakfast at ours for Phil ...

In May we actually went ‘out out’ for lunch out with Jackie, Rach and and a very smiley Erin, who seemed to take her first restaurant experience in her stride …

We took a trip to Elford walled garden with mum and Bobby … where there was sunshine and flowers ...

... as well as plenty to keep Bobby entertained ...
... and we had our first picnic of the year. These were our views of the garden whilst eating our lunch. We were very lucky to miss the rain I think ...

We finished our day out with a walk past the church to the play area, where Bobby expelled even more energy whilst we mainly just watched from a comfortable spot ...

We were then back to The Sutherlands for our replacement Mamma Mia event … The weather wasn't the most brilliant but we were all quite happy and safe from the rain ...

There was more than enough tasty Greek fare, prepared lovingly by 'the girls'. It's so good when the kids start looking after us grown ups 😂😂😂

There has been a trip to Felley Priory with mum ... but I think I will tell you about that in a separate post as there were lots of flowers to photograph.

Last week we had another day out with mum and the little man at Beacon Park … in the sunshine. I really don't know where he gets his energy from ... he fair wore us out ...
We managed one group selfie ... though not without difficulty as this little man can not abide the sun in his eyes ...

Last, but by no means least we went for a long overdue posh afternoon tea in more glorious sunshine with the Bentons …

And finally … the garden is starting to look like our summer garden again … still very green, but showing sneaky peaks of the colour to come …

When I look back we have actually done a fair bit over the last few months … it’s definitely time to have everyone over to ours next 😀

  1. Wow, you've certainly packed a lot into the last few months. No go here with not allowed to visit, no visitors to us either, still wearing masks everywhere & not sure if we will ever be out of this mess. I do envy your freedom, as we've also had i'net issues because of the flood & wind damage here in our state last week. Enjoy & take care.

    1. Yes it has been lovely to start seeing people a bit more freely, though we are still not that keen on going places where there are lots of people. I didn’t realise things were still so restricted where you are. We are still wearing masks and the next stage of our roadmap to opening has just been delayed, but that doesn’t affect us personally too much. We do seem to be on a bit of a never ending series of peaks and troughs though, but vaccinations are going well here so hopefully things will soon be a bit more normal 😃

  2. You've definitely had a lovely couple of months. That last afternoon tea looks awesome. And I love the giant spade! Hoping to go for afternoon tea in July, watch this space. :)

    1. It was a nice afternoon tea … lovely setting, but a bit pricey in my opinion. Yes Bobby loved the giant spade … he remembers it because he got stung when stood beside it, which he was not too impressed with. We had to do a bit of dock leaf therapy, which he was a bit sceptical but of course did the trick 😃

Thanks for taking time to comment on my blog. I love to hear what people think about what Martin and I have been up to.
